Generative AI, like the tools made by OpenAI, is changing how students do research, it is playing a pivotal role in simplifying and enhancing research activities. It is a big help, but it also introduces critical questions about originality and honesty in academic work.
Here’s how AI can help you with your studies, from coming up with ideas to checking your work.
1. Brainstorming with AI: Unleashing Creativity
ChatGPT-4 from OpenAI is a smart tool that can write, make pictures, understand data and even search the web. It is like having a conversation – you ask it something, and it gives you ideas. You might ask it:
- “I need a new way to think about [your topic]. What’s been said about it recently?“
- “What are people in [your field] talking about these days?“
- “Can you show me what methods haven’t been used much in [your topic]?“
The idea is to use AI to get new ideas and then explore them yourself.
