A-LEVEL PRACTICAL ENDORSEMENT

The aim of the Practical Endorsement is to ensure that students can apply their theoretical knowledge from A-level courses in a practical setting and demonstrate mastery of both academic and practical skills. This assessment method allows teachers to evaluate student performance in a way that goes beyond traditional exam formats and highlights a student’s confidence in carrying out laboratory or field practices. EXTENDED PROJECT QUALIFICATION (EPQ)

An EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) is a big, independent project for which you’ll acquire an AS qualification. At LPTC we can guide you through the whole process, including having regular meetings and supplying you with a full support pack.

  • You choose the topic for your EPQ, and will need to:
  • Write an essay of around 5000 words
  • Complete a paper about your research and your approach
  • Give a final presentation where you talk through your essay and paperwork
  • As an alternative, you can create an ‘artefact’ (a piece of art, or something else you’ve physically made) and produce a shorter essay.

  • Benefits:
  • An EPQ qualification looks great on your CV, can help you get into university, and is good practise for essay writing once you get there.

If you are interested in support to do an EPQ, then please get in touch.
