Instructions for Students
These instructions are for all students sitting mock examinations at London Professional Training College. They set out the rules and expectations that must be followed before, during, and after each exam. The purpose of these instructions is to ensure that mock exams are conducted fairly, consistently, and under conditions that reflect real examinations.
Before the Exam
- Check the timetable carefully and make sure you know your exam date and time.
- Exams start at 10:00 am.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early and wait quietly outside until you are allowed in.
- Bring a valid photo ID (you will not be allowed to sit the mock without ID).
- Bring the correct equipment: black pens, pencils, calculator if allowed, ruler, eraser, etc.
- Do not bring unauthorized materials: notes, papers, sticky tape erasers, correction fluid, etc.
- Pencil cases and glasses cases must be clear if brought into the exam room.
- You may bring a bottle of water (label removed).
- Use the washroom before the exam – you will not normally be allowed to leave once the exam has started.
In the Exam Room
- Switch off your mobile phone and leave it in your bag in the designated area. Phones must not be on your desk or in your pocket.
- Sit in your allocated seat (check the seating plan).
- Remain silent at all times inside the exam room.
- Listen carefully to the invigilator’s instructions and follow them at all times.
- You must write in black ink only (unless the paper states otherwise).
- Rough work must be done in your answer booklet and crossed out clearly if not part of your answer.
- If you need extra paper, raise your hand and wait for the invigilator. Do not ask for help with exam questions.
- Keep your eyes on your own work – cheating or attempting to copy will not be tolerated.
- Stop writing immediately when the invigilator announces the end of the exam.
After the Exam
- Remain silent until you have left the exam room.
- Take all your belongings with you.
- You may be asked to complete a short post-mock questionnaire straight after the exam.
